PROJECTS
The ability to communicate, plan and manage golf course improvement projects is an important role of the superintendent. The golf course requires constant reviews and adjustments to maintain top conditions.
At Gulph Mills in 2020, we installed a Rain Bird irrigation system with Landscapes Unlimited. We were able to maintain play during the summer with minor disturbance. Beginning in the fall of 2021, we worked with Gil Hanse and Total Turf on a course restoration project. This included all bunkers to Better Billy bunkers, greens expansions, fairway extensions and building new tees. These were all in the hopes of restoring the course to original design as well as updating some tees for better turf conditions and playability.
The photos below highlight parts of the project.
